Direct Care Learning Series

Community Inclusion with Tim Steinbeck

Date: Wednesday, May 27, 2009

Time: 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Early arrival is suggested for parking and sign-in (sign-in will be available beginning at 1:00 p.m.); workshop will begin promptly at 2:00 p.m.

Location: Crowne Plaza Romulus, 8000 Merriman Rd., Romulus, MI 48174

Sugested Participants: Peer Support Specialists, Child Care Workers, Mental HealthTechs, Support Staff, Direct Care Workers; all staff who work within the organizations that provide services to CMH consumers, not limited to Housekeeping, Biling Clerks, Receptionists, Parking Lot Attendants, Club House Advocates, Supportive Housing and Employment Specialists.

Workshop Learning Objectives:

• Participants will learn about affordable, area options for community activities with persons supported.
• Participants will learn to engage persons supported in decision making about community activities.
• Participants will learn techniques for handling difficulties which may arise during community activities.

There is no fee for this training, however, pre-registration is required! The 80GB iPod Classic drawing is only available to those who register for this workshop online through www.vceonline.org. (TGC, WCCCD, WSU, and D-WCCMHA employees are not eligible to participate in the drawing).
